The most adventurous, most reliable,
safest, best Subaru Outback ever.

Designed for unlimited adventure and uncompromising safety, the 2022 Outback features the confidence of standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive with up to 33 MPG** and the advanced protection of both standard EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology[3] and the available DriverFocus® Distraction Mitigation System[2]. And it’s engineered to last, with 97% of Outback vehicles sold in the last 10 years still on the road today[4]. For 2022, an even higher level of Outback capability is now available: the all-new Subaru Outback Wilderness™, featuring extensive all-terrain upgrades including an even more surefooted drivetrain, increased ground clearance, rugged exterior cladding, and a stylish, unique interior.

Introducing the all-new 2022 Outback Wilderness

The 2022 Outback Wilderness takes the legendary capability of the Outback farther than ever. Trail-ready upgrades let you reach the places you could only dream about, and its tough, bold style looks like nothing else on the mountain. Because it’s an Outback, you know you can trust it to get you to the end of the trail and back – over and over again.

Adventurous Capability

Engineered for real off-road fun, the 2022 Outback Wilderness delivers loads of capability upgrades, inside and out. The confident traction of standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive is improved even further with enhanced dual-function X-MODE®. A 260-horsepower turbocharged SUBARU BOXER® engine, retuned drivetrain gearing, increased ground clearance, and water-repellent StarTex® upholstery are just the beginning of its summit-conquering features.

Rugged Styling

The Outback Wilderness pushes everything further, and that includes style. Rugged, blacked-out exterior trim and cladding protect against trail hazards as well as showcase its ready-for-anything spirit. Matte-black finish off-road wheels set the tough foundation of its practical design. Anodized Copper-finish accents and trim hide functional features like front and rear tow points and extend to the interior, where they highlight durable, high-quality cabin materials.

The places your Outback Wilderness will take you are the places where you need equipment you can trust. Good thing Subaru is the Most Trusted Brand seven years running, according to Kelley Blue Book[5]. It’s why Subaru vehicles hold their value better than any other brand[6]. So no matter how far you go, you’ll always have the confidence to find a new level of adventure.
